We Offer Delaware's First Pro Bono For Grandparent's 

NEW

Grandparents United has been awarded a contract with The Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD) in July of 2008.  This will help provide for needed funding for GPU Relative Caregivers Support Meetings. Included in the support group meetings are as follows: child care, snacks, arts and crafts projects, and support material. Also a pizza night, and a back to school chicken dinner. We will also have information translated into Spanish to better serve our Hispanic Community. Bring the kids we offer child care now!!

Kinship Care~ $500.00 per child for clothing and bedding within and before the end of 180 days of entering your care

Medicaid ~ medical insurance
*SCHIP~ state healthy children's program for those under 19 with no comprehensive health insurance 200% below Federal Poverty level
*DPAP ~ DE.  prescription assistance program
*QMB ~ you must be entitled to medicare part A to qualify
*SLMB ~ pays your medicare payments only 120% Federal poverty
*QI-1 ~pays your medicare payments only 135% Federal poverty
*Child care ~ purchase of care some fees are associated  you can also contact  Workplace Connections
*Lifeline ~ phone discount
*Link up ~ helps with initiating cost reduction
*LIHEAP ~ low income home energy assistance

Respite Care ~ Grand Time Off, Summer Camp , School Holiday
Grand Time Off ~ respite for 55 and older with some limited funds for those 50 to 54
Summer Camp ~ open to 55 and older children camps , YMCA & Boys & Girls Club
School Holiday ~ basic respite like the summer camp program

We are always happy tp speak to any group about relative caregiver issue's.

If anyone is interested in becoming a group leader please contact your County Leader. We will train you and help walk you through several meetings. We are also in need of volunteers to make phone calls about support group reminders and some for various other tasks.
